Crime remains an unfortunate reality in South Africa today. While our suburbs are not immune from this curse, there many things that we, as a community, can do to reduce crime in our area. However, statistics indicate that intelligent proactive protection of our public spaces is right now one of the most effective forms of crime prevention and there is no doubt that an effective Residents Association, together with a good security company will do a great job for us – but we urgently need more residents to join for the full protection plan to be implemented.

AMERA Membership
Membership of the Aston Manor Residents Association is open to all residents living Berkeley, Braemar, Bentley, Bryntirrold, Aftonwold and Aberfeldy roads Aston Manor, whether they are owners or tenants. AMERA is being consulted by all kinds of organisations and institutions, like the City Council, developers, SAPS, etc. on many different issues affecting our area. It is important that AMERA has a mandate to speak on behalf of as many residents as possible and can show that it is indeed a powerful body. Therefore we encourage all residents to become members of AMERA.

- To promote and safeguard the interests of the community of the area
- To co-operate and liaise with other organisations in order to further the objectives of the association
- To secure the area against crime
- To clear the area of anti-social behaviour

- To build a community together through mutual respect
Membership Fees
The current subscription is:
Single Residential Property – R480.00 per month Sectional title (Flats/Townhouses) – R200.00 per unit.
